Answer Snippet
Do you have to go on Accutane before you have a Profractional laser?
Accutane and Lasers
Oct 11, 2016
Based on the photo you provided, I would not suggest going back on Accutane. I normally suggest being off of Accutane for a minimum of 12 months prior to an aggressive laser treatment. I also suggest using a topical Retin-A product with Hydroquinone for at least a month prior to treating the skin with a fractionated laser. This combination will prepare your skin for the laser and may even help with the breakouts by helping with exfoliation. You would then discontinue...
I would like to know if I am just prolonging having MOHS surgery by using zyclara for 6 weeks?
Basal Cell Carcinoma
Aug 24, 2016
I would suggest going to the doctor who did the original biopsy and getting clarification on your diagnosis. Basal Cell IS skin cancer, it is NOT precancerous. As you stated the nose is very sensitive. I normally have my patients take something for pain and/or an antianxiety medication by mouth prior to my injections them to numb them up on the nose. Ice can also be applied to the area prior to injections. After the injections, patients normally only feel a little pressure or...
Lump above incision postoperative day 1 Mohs?
Moh's Surgery
Aug 24, 2016
It is perfectly normal to still have swelling at this point, especially in the upper lip area. It is too soon to tell if the small bump just above your incision will settle down, but it should. Be patient, it can take up to a year to achieve your final result from surgery. You should be able to tell a big difference about a week after your suture removal though. Best of luck!
Why didn't my brow lift hold?
Brow Lift
Aug 18, 2016
Without seeing before pictures it is difficult to say if your surgeon may have just been a bit conservative in your surgery. I believe in doing an open brow lift as opposed to the type of lift you had. My results are consistent and they last. You do have a slightly longer recovery time, but the results are well worth it. My incisions are hidden either in the scalp or at the hairline. They hide well. The numbness and tingling you are experiencing should get better with time....
Four days post laser resurfacing I have painfully swollen eyelids; face is swollen (peeling now). (photo
Laser Skin Resurfacing Healing
Aug 15, 2016
It is normal to have swelling and tenderness at this point in the healing process. I agree that your skin appears too dry in the photo. I normally suggest Aquaphor or Elta Moisturizer for the 1st week to ten day. I also normally suggest 1 cup of cool water with 1 tablespoon of white vinegar to help ease the initial "hot" feeling you have and it will also help to exfoliate the dead skin a little quicker. However, you need to moisturize well after the vinegar as it tends to dry the...
Is it possible to get basal cell carcinoma inside your nostril?
Lesion inside the nose
Feb 11, 2015
Yes it is possible to have Basal Cell, Squamous Cell, and/or Melanoma's develop inside the nose. My best suggestion would be to have either a dermatologist or ENT do a small biopsy of the site to determine exactly what you have. Then you can make an informed decision on how to proceed if something else needs to be done.
I've taken Propecia since I was 28, I didn't feel any side effects, would there be a possibility of sudd
Long Term side effects of Finesteride/Propecia
Feb 11, 2015
It would be highly unlikely to suddenly develop side effects from a medication that you have been using for years, however it is a possibility. As we age, our natural hormone levels have a tendency to diminish which could affect this particular medications potential effects.
