Dr. Wallace’s primary areas of expertise are breast augmentation, breast lifts, tummy tucks, and full mommy makeovers. He also offers facial plastic surgery, including rhinoplasty, facelifts, and a wide range of nonsurgical facial rejuvenation procedures, including Botox and dermal fillers.

Double board-certified plastic surgery and general surgery, Dr. Wallace combines artistry with technique, providing each patient with the individualized result that’s best suited to their desires.

Dr. Wallace received both his bachelor’s degree and medical degree at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He then completed his general surgery residency and simultaneously obtained a master’s degree in medical science from Ohio State University. Dr. Wallace remained in Columbus to complete his plastic surgery residency.

He joined the faculty at Ohio State University as an assistant professor, training residents in post-bariatric-surgery body contouring, cosmetic surgery, and reconstructive surgery for complex facial trauma. Following his 12 years of education and training, Dr. Wallace moved to Jacksonville, where he opened the Level 2 Trauma Center at Orange Park Medical Center.
Dr. Wallace is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery – General. As an active member of both the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Dr. Wallace stays at the forefront of emerging techniques. He is also a member of the Greater Jacksonville Society of Plastic Surgeons and holds medical privileges in major hospitals in Clay, Duval, and Saint John’s counties.
Named one of America’s Top Plastic Surgeons by the Consumers’ Research Council of America since 2011, Dr. Wallace has received multiple honors and distinctions throughout the years. He was recognized as a Top Doctor on RealSelf and selected as one of Jacksonville Magazine’s Top Doctors.

Your surgeon should guide you through the process and help you in your choices but ultimately the size you select should be your decision.

The FDA states saline implants are approved for augmentation in women aged 19 years or older, while silicone implants are approved for women aged 22 years or older. To select a silicone implant for a woman younger than 22 years old is considered "off label" use and up to the discretion of the surgeon based on what they feel would provide the best results and whether or not the surgeon feels the patient is mature enough for silicone implants.

I would make sure to seek out a second and maybe even a third opinion before you undergo a cosmetic procedure. Mesh is not routinely used for an abdominoplasty. Mesh is used for abdominal hernias. Make sure you have a clear understanding of what procedure you are undergoing, and that you have selected a board certified plastic surgeon.

Is this a cosmetic abdominoplasty? Or are you undergoing a reconstructive procedure (i.e., breast after mastectomy) in which the surgeon is using a TRAM flap? More information would be needed to answer this question fully.

You would likely need removal of your breast implants and a breast lift. This is not exactly a breast reduction. Insurance will not pay for this procedure as the implants were placed cosmetically.

I have them decide which is more important: a look, a bra size, or an implant size. I have seen patients who have had surgery elsewhere as pet of their recovery. Please know however that each visit will incur an office visit fee, and any procedures that may need to be performed (drain removal, suture removal, wound debridement, seroma or hematoma aspiration, etc) will incur additional fees. When you select a surgeon, you should do so with the full recovery in mind.

I made the decision several years ago, when I was the director of the post-bariatric body contouring program at Ohio State, to avoid performing arm loft and thigh loft procedures on the same day. It is difficult for a patient to move around afterwards, increasing the risk of complications later.
