The term Mommy Makeover in Virginia state is a broad term that commonly means an abdominal and breast surgery performed at the same time, typically to correct changes that occurred with pregnancy and/or breastfeeding.

Normally a tummy tuck is aprocedure that takes about 2 to 3 hours and if liposuction is added it can bean additional 30 minutes to an hour. Normally a breast augmentation can beperformed in an hour or less. If a tummy tuck and a breast augmentation isperformed together, that is usually a 2 to 2-1/2 hour procedure.

A tummy tuck will allow removal of your excess abdominal skin and liposuction can be used to contour your flank areas. It is common to combine this with breast surgery as well. Your results will be proportional to your weight at the time of your mommy lift and since you are currently at least 70-80 lbs.

Above your ideal body weight I would advise trying to lose some weight prior to mommy tuck. This will improve your cosmetic result and allow better wound healing. Make an appt. with a board certified plastic surgeon for a full consultation and surgical plan.

I generally recommend waiting 3-4 months after completion of breast feeding to allow the loose skin to recoil to its baseline. I also want the loose skin and muscle of the abdomen that was stretched by the baby to recoil back to baseline.

I think it is a great idea to consult with your plastic surgeon early to share your goals and design a plan and timeframe. Then visit again a month before mommy makeover to finalize the plan in terms of implant size and whether a breast lift is necessary.
