A mommy makeover in Toronto generally involves abdominal and breast rejuvenation surgery to restore the post-pregnancy body.

Healthy diet and exercise is the best way to prepare for a mommy makeover. It is best if you could be close to your ideal weight.

If you are in great physical shape before surgery, you will heal more quickly and have an easier recovery.

The best way to prepare for your mommy lift is to follow the instructions given to you by your surgeon. Eat a healthy diet, take recommended supplements and avoid all aspirin products.  After surgery continue to follow all instructions for the best possible result.

Staggering mommy makeover procedures is not necessarily the best idea.

Separating the two operations by six weeks should be no problem. However, to shorten the convalescence you might want to consider having these procedures done at the same time.

If you have a tummy tuck,you can have a breast lift with implants six weeks later. You may also combine the procedures into one, if your surgeon thinks this is a good idea for you. Always see a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon.

What you are describing is a mommy makeover and is done at the same time.  If you   Have already had surgery, been waiting about six weeks to three months is a good time to have another surgery.

These two procedures are often combined when carrying out ‘mommy makeovers in Toronto’. If they are not done together, it is wise to leave some time to allow you to recover from the first surgery.

This can take any where between 6 to 12 weeks depending on the patient. Drains after a tummy tuck are placed under the abdominal skin. The skin has been elevated off the abdominal wall and fluid has a tendency to collect in the space. The drain prevents formation of seroma. Abdominoplasty drains are typically left in place for 1 to 2 weeks.I also like to use a pain pump. This infuses local anesthetic onto the abdominal wall and can help with some early postoperative pain. This is removed within the first week.

Not to worry, Transient Weight Gain is Normal Immediately After Surgery of any type and especially after a tummy tuck and/or Liposuction. This is due to swelling, also called edema, which is a physiological response to surgery especially those that involve a lot of surface area. Lots of Salt is used during surgery as well in the form of saline by both the surgeon and anesthesiologist which also causes water retention. You will pee this out in the next several days to weeks as your edema resolves. By the way, the weight of your implants will only add about 2 pounds.

Weight gain after surgery is normal. Even though tissue has been removed fluid was added during surgery and edema (swelling) occurs as well. This fluid retention can last up to one month. Also reduced activity after surgery can lead to weight gain.

As a general rule i tell my patient not to expect to be below their preop weight for the first 30 days. But at 3 month all healing is done and the goal weight should be reached based on what was done during surgery. So don’t worry about your weight at 10 days.

The extra weight that you carried during young adulthood stretched out your abdominal muscles and skin much like a pregnancy would do. Same deformity, different cause.

Housekeeping business, mommy makeover

Housekeeping can involve heavy lifting and repetitive tasks. In my practice I would recommend my patients avoid rigorous tasks for at least 4-6 weeks after surgery.
