Botox relaxes the muscles, inhibiting the movement that causes the lines that are bothering you. Deeper lines may still be present even though we've relaxed the movement. These will require multiple, regular treatments to further soften the lines. I also recommend microneedling in conjunction to stimulate collagen and further soften the lines.

I would not recommend seeking to have hyaluronic acid fillers injected for muscle enhancement. Fillers are meant to replace age-related volume loss or enhance facial features such as lips or cheeks. Injecting deep into major muscles could result in serious complications, such as vascular occlusion resulting in tissue necrosis. A new device called Emsculpt uses electromagnetic energy to stimulate muscle contraction. You could also see a plastic surgeon for surgical options of body contouring...
How many syringes of juvederm will I need for my naturally thin lips?

Thank you for your question! A syringe of filler is only 1mL. How many syringes you require depends on your goals. For the lips I recommend 1 syringe at a time because lips can swell for a few days post treatment. After 2 weeks we can add an additional syringe if you desire more volume. We can always add more gradually to get you to your goal. Botox may help with vertical lip lines but not replace or enhance volume. Make sure you see a licensed professional for your treatment.
