Dr. Baharestani received both his bachelor’s and medical degrees from New York University before going on to complete his ophthalmology residency at both Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital and NYU Medical Center, where he was named executive chief resident. He then completed a fellowship at the Cincinnati Eye Institute and University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he refined his skills performing oculofacial plastic surgery, tear duct surgery, and aesthetic and reconstructive surgery of the eyelid.

He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

When not busy treating patients, Dr. Baharestani speaks at lectures, in addition to enjoying Persian cuisine, the music of Billy Joel, and international travel. He is fluent in English, Spanish, and Farsi.
