One eyelid is bigger than the other?
Recent change of the left eyelids
Oct 24, 2016
Often times a droopy lid can cause this appearance, however if you feel that the right side is your “normal” side and the left side has had a recent change, this definitely would require further investigation. Older photographs would be helpful in evaluating this change. An oculoplastic surgeon should be able to evaluate your left orbit to see if there is a cause of this lateral upper eyelid flare (opening wider than normal). There can be a wide range of causes of this…
Pterygium: Can it come back once it’s treated?
Yes, it can come back
Oct 8, 2016
Absolutely, regrowth is a risk in pterygium surgery. There are certain techniques that can be used in order to minimize the risk of recurrence, especially in cases of re-operations. For example intraoperatively using an conjunctival autograph and/or a medication called Mitomycin C can help. Also your post surgical medical eyedrop regimen can be an important factor as well.

Also sunglasses and UV protection are important for lowering your changes of recurrence…

Will an intern be qualified to do pterygium removal?
Intern surgery
Oct 8, 2016
Excellent question. As with many surgeries, physicians in training may be involved. Pterygium surgery is a very delicate surgery involving the cornea, and complications can arise. An experienced surgeon should be involved in the case. That being said, interns would typically be in the operating room only under direct supervision of the attending surgeon. The supervising surgeon should be someone you are comfortable with, as they would be overseeing the procedure.

Pterygium surgery is…

Would Botox help my “excessive sweating” ?
Botox for hyperhidrosis
Sep 25, 2016
Yes, absolutely Botox can be helpful for hyperhidrosis, for most people that is. Generally speaking, Botox can reduce sweat production directly in the area it is injected into, and is commonly used in the underarms, palms of the hands, and soles of the feet. It is best to meet with your provider to discuss the details in your case. Good luck!
I had Botox in my crows and forehead. Since then my scalp spasms and my jaw is weak. Did it migrate?
Botox response
Sep 25, 2016
Hi, I’m sorry to hear about your troubles. Botox can sometimes migrate to nearby muscles, but one more thing to keep in mind is sometimes when a muscle is made weaker from Botox, other muscles over-activate in response. For example sometimes Botox treatment in the glabellar area (mid-forehead) can lead to over-activation of the outer brow area. Your treating provider should be able to help more specifically in your case. Take care!
