Upper and lower eye bag surgery. How much would this procedure cost?
Visual Field Testing
Mar 6, 2017
Thanks for your question. An Oculoplastic Surgeon ( Eye Surgeon that specializes plastic surgery around the eyes and face) can determine if your upper eyelids cause a visual field defect that qualifies for insurance coverage. Your profile picture suggests that you have blockage of your peripheral field of vision. Lower eyelid cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance. Thanks and I hope this helps.

Blepharoplasty or Filler in Tear Trough?
Fat Transposition
Mar 3, 2017
Thanks for the question. Based on your photos, it looks like you may a good candidate for transconjunctival lower eyelid blepharoplasty with fat transposition to smooth the eyelid/cheek junction along with lateral suspension. I also believe that laser resurfacing will help with the tone and texture of your lower eyelid skin.
Oculoplastic surgeons are very familiar with this approach to the lower eyelids. Good luck.

I am debating between a brow lift or upper eyelid surgery. Any suggestions?
Brow asymmetry
Jul 12, 2016
Your photograph shows brow asymmetry. Your right brow may be higher to compensate for right upper eyelid ptosis. A blepharoplasty alone would not correct this. I would recommend an evaluation by an oculoplastic surgeon ( fellowship-trained eyelid specialist that is board certified in ophthalmology). An oculoplastic surgeon will be able to evaluate your brow position, determine the amount of excess skin that is safe to remove, measure levator excursion ( strength of the muscle the opens the…
Do eye exercises help ptosis even by just a little?
excercise for ptosis
Jul 12, 2016
Exercise to strengthen the levator muscle or diminish the amount of eyelid fat or skin is not effective. There are many qualified oculoplastic surgeons in the greater LA area that have performed thousands of successful eyelid surgeries. I suggest a consultation to learn about your options. Hope this is helpful.Vikram D. Durairaj, MD FACSAustin, Tx
Getting a second surgery on eyelid ptosis left upper eyelid. Any suggestions?
Ptosis revision
Jul 12, 2016
It is very reasonable to consider ptosis revision. Ptosis success is measured by the eyelid in resting position. It sounds like you are using your brow to achieve the 1mm difference. Ptosis surgery can be done from the front ( levator resection and advancement) or from back of the eyelid ( posterior approach with conjunctivo-mullers resection). It is important to address the muscle weakness and not try to compensate surgically by removing additional skin. I suggest consultation with an…
Eyelid surgery price – is that expensive?
Eyelid Surgery by Eyelid Specialists
Jun 21, 2016
Eyelid Surgery ( blepharoplasty ) cost vary by region and expertise. An eyelid specialist ( Oculoplastic surgeon ) can determine if your eyes are safe for surgery and also determine if eye muscle or brow surgery is indicated. The typical range for upper eyelid surgery is between $2000 – $5000. My recommendation is to see an ASOPRS (American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery) trained  Oculoplastic Surgeon in your area. Hope this helps.Vikram D Durairaj, MDAustin, Tx
Have my first surgery consult next week to determine if I am a candidate for blepharoplasty and/or
Comprehensive Upper Face Evaluation
Jun 18, 2016
I suggest an evaluation by an Oculoplastic Surgeon (ASOPRS-certified) to asses brow position, upper eyelid position ( contribution of skin and muscle changes), and lower eyelid aging changes. Additionally, skin changes have to addressed. I do agree that an aggressive brow lift will leave you with hollow upper eyelids. On preliminary examination of your photo, I believe that you may benefit from a temporal brow lift, fat transposition lower eyelid blepharoplasty with lateral retinacular…
