A “Mommy Makeover” in North Carolina typically involves a tummy tuck, breast augmentation and/or breast lift, and possibly liposuction. It addresses, in one operation, the areas most affected by pregancies.

Of course, you can have these procedures done separately in different operations. Those patients who have the Mommy Makeover in one operation prefer to have just one recovery time, and can often save some money on mommy surgery, operating room, and anesthesia fees when the procedures are done together.

This is a customized procedure that usually addresses the entire trunk – the breasts and the abdomen.

These procedures are done quite often all at the same time, however without an in person exam then I could not tell you if this for sure could be done all together or not.

In my practice I frequently perform the breast augmentation with tummy tuck and liposuction of the hips, however, depending on how much liposuction you are wanting to have done, that may need to be done in a separate surgery.

It is best to have a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to find out if all of this can be done at once.

Recovery post mommy lift

The answer to your question is entirely based on your preference and personal concerns. I understand the many concerns mothers have taking time off of their busy schedules, however, recovery after any surgery is very important and will require a good support system.

Many of my patient’s opt for a full mommy makeover in North Carolina, which involves breast surgery and a tummy tuck performed at the same time. Since the tummy tuck procedure is more invasive, it will require more recovery time.

Having both procedures performed together would prevent you from taking additional time off to recover for another procedure. The healing process varies between patients. You will be very limited the first 2-4 weeks after a tummy tuck and for about one week after breast augmentation.

Provided you are medically a good candidate for the mommy lift in NC and anesthesia, you appear to be a good candidate who can achieve a very noticeable change. Based on the photos only, it does not appear a vertical tummy incision would be required.

While your breasts will be much larger and better shaped after full healing, your abdomen will have a dramatic change but not like the photos – that would be unrealistic.

Childbirth Is One Of The Most Rewarding Experiences

A tummy tuck and breast lift is very often done together at the same time and can be performed safely if you are healthy. Instead of having two recovery periods, you would only have one.

Plus you wouldn’t have to go through the unnecessary risk of having anesthesia a second time. On top of that, it will also be cheaper to have both procedures performed together rather than separately as the facility and anesthesia cost are much higher for the 1st hour of any surgery and significantly decrease for subsequent hours.

The cost varies significantly by location and physician. The best recommendation is to call different offices to get a quote or have a consultations with a few plastic surgeons to see what they say and what they can offer.

Revision of physical activity after mommy makeover.

Specific restrictions should come only from your surgeon. In my practice I encourage patients to begin walking immediately. Athletic activity which does not target abdominal muscles can usually start in a couple of weeks.

Activities which engage the abdominal muscles are begun at six weeks is moderation and gradually increased in intensity until full activity is achieved at three months.
