In itself, grade 3 ptosis means that your nipples point toward the floor and constitute the lowest part of your breasts. It is the most severe form of breast ptosis, but the classification mainly describes the shape of the breasts, and does not correlate well with the difficulty of correction.

It appears that you have typical post-partum breast changes (atrophy and looseness) and relaxation/stretching of the abdominal wall skin and rectus muscles. The combined surgery to correct both problems constitutes a mommy-make-over. This surgery can certainly be performed safely together.

However, your initial recuperation will be challenging because of abdominal wall and chest pain. Normally after a tummy tuck, we have patients use their arm and chest muscles to help stand up from a sitting or lying position. This would be difficult right after a breast augment.

You would certainly need some help caring for your young children, and even yourself in the first few days. Unless you can arrange for help at home, I would suggest you consider separating the procedures into 2 stages.

From your photos it appears that placement of breast implants will both enlarge your breasts and lift them nicely. Also, your c-section scar can be removed at the time of the tummy tuck, and the incisional scar placed very low, hidden within a bikini line.

How soon can I get back in the gym for a mild workout after a mommy makeover?

In my practice, patients are able to return to light workouts about 4-6 weeks after a mommy makeover. Be sure to follow the instructions provided by your surgeon.

Typically, most surgeons would want you to wait at least 6 weeks prior to lifting any weights or engaging in any strenuous cardio exercise. However, best to check in with your operating surgeon since every surgeon may have a slightly different postop protocol.

Depending on the procedures you are having performed as part of your mommy makeover you can resume walking on a treadmill at 2 weeks. If, however, you are looking to perform weight lifting exercises you may need to wait 6 weeks or more. Your surgeon will be the best source of advice for you.
