Doctor Vath, Golden, Colorado 21 Year Old Gynecomastia (male Mammoplasty Reduction) Patient
This is a 21 year old man who complained about fullness beneath his nipples that had been present since puberty. He had idiopathic gynecomastia, a very common cause of fullness in male chests. This can be treated with either liposuction or direct excision (cutting out the tissue). In this patient's situation, the breast fullness was dense, glandular tissue not ammenable to liposuction removal. Therefore, he underwent a direct excsision of the breast tissue to flatten his chest and nipples. The post-operative pictures are from 5 weeks after surgery. (Sep 6, 2019)
