I agree with waiting at least four weeks and for the incisions to be completely closed before initiating scar treatment. Biocorneum is great and easier to manage than silicone sheets, for best results apply twice a day and use for 12 straight weeks; it does not help to use it longer. This is likely a buried suture or “stitch abscess”. This happens when your body recognizes the suture before it has completely absorbed it and tries to “spit it out” so to speak. Given that you tolerated Juvaderm ultra, that is certainly a safe injectable for you. I would not chance trying the Voluma again… not worth it. If you would like something longer acting and of thicker consistency that is a similar product for the midface I would inquire about Restylane Lyft. Similar feel and longevity to Voluma.

No! I’m usually not this direct but i would never recommend a patient remove their own drain. This can be uncomfortable and needs to be done as a clean procedure. As already mentioned it needs to be coordinated with your surgeon to ensure your drains are not putting out too much fluid and that they are in fact ready to be removed.
