This patient came for an evaluation of eyelid asymmetry. She has a history of thyroid eye disease causing proptosis (eye bulging/prominent eyes) on the left more than the right. She wanted reduction of her scleral show (white space around the eyes) and more evenness. Cosmetic eyelid surgery in patients with thyroid eye disease or significant eyelid asymmetry requires a custom surgical plan for each patient. Both of her lower lids were tightened and the outer portion of the left eyelid was slightly closed (tarsorrhaphy).
She also had a cosmetic upper eyelid blepharoplasty to remove the excess skin of the upper lids.
This is only her ONE WEEK post op from an IN OFFICE surgery!
