The procedure will ensure that the muscles are tightened, the extra skin along the lower part of your abdomen removed and the fat along your flanks/back contoured. It will give you the best chances of getting a great result with a flat stomach.

As such, you may not be fully satisfied with a mini tummy tuck. Make sure you consult with an American board certified plastic surgeon to go over your specific concerns. He/she should be able to design an operation that would address your and your body’s specific needs.

Your age by itself is definitely not a contraindication for a tummy tuck. If you are otherwise healthy and you are close to your ideal weight/BMI, I wouldn’t suggest that you consult with an American board certified plastic surgeon to discuss you right options and address your concerns.

Thank you for your question. Your concerns are definitely valid. The hernia repair and the tummy tuck can be done at the same time. I would be very careful choosing your surgeon. The only surgeons properly trained and certified to perform an abdominoplasty and more importantly deal with any potential are surgeons certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Make sure you consult with an appropriately board certified surgeon. Good luck.
