Hering’s effect after unilateral ptosis surgery – if I correct my good eye wil
Hering’s law- Yes but uncommonly
Jan 19, 2023
Hi greetings from the UK. Yes you can develop contralateral consecutive ptosis in your previously operated eye but typically it’s likely to be minimal. You can ask your surgeon to try to simulate it by performing a phenylephrine test.

Best Wishes
David

If you had incisional double eyelid surgery and the crease is too high, can it
Sorry but it’s very difficult to do safely and predictably.
Jan 15, 2023
Hi greetings from the UK. No a non incisional suture technique won’t help you. Your situation is very difficult to treat predictably. What you’re talking about is trying to create a new surgical crease lower than your current higher crease that you don’t like, ablating the previous crease, herniating what available orbital fat you’ve got left to re inflate the superior sulcus hollowing and then hoping that your previously created surgical crease that you don’t like doesn’t reform. It’s…
Can an eyelid lift be done safely if the patient is on one aspirin per day?
Aspirin 75mg is safe for oculoplastic surgery
Sep 6, 2022
Hi. Greetings from the UK. Just to say that yes we do ask our patients to cease aspirin prior to oculoplastic surgery if possible especially for our higher risk operations when excessive bleeding would be dangerous e.g. skin graft surgery. However for our patients in whom they cannot safe stop their aspirin safely e.g. coronary artery stent patients requiring long term aspirin, we would still offer them the option of surgery whilst still on the aspirin 75mg once a day but just warn them that…
I want to know recommendation for removal of a tarsorrhaphy (Phtoo)
See an oculoplastic surgeon
May 24, 2022
Hi. Greetings from the UK!. You would need to see an oculoplastic surgeon ideally. Looking at your 2nd photo it’s apparently that you still have some degree of lagophthalmos (non closure) of the eye but with a good Bells phenomenon. You would probably still require some sort of way of aiding closure of the eye as it’s probable you may still get exposure keratopathy of they eye (cornea drying out and becoming damaged still). Your oculoplastic surgeon therefore may offer you the option of…
Should I get a blephroplasty or endoscopic brow lift?
Depends on what you’re trying to achieve.
Jan 8, 2022
Hi greetings from Birmingham!
It depends very much on what you’re trying to achieve. If you’re happy with the position of your brows but just want increased upper lid show then an upper lid blepharoplasty operation is a pretty reliable way of increasing upper lid show. Ideally I would recommend that you seen an oculoplastic surgeon who will examine your eyelids properly and find out why your eyelids still look hooded. It may be due to the position of your orbital septum insertion, orbital…
What is the best Eyelid Surgery procedure for mild case of Ptosis?
Ptosis
Dec 21, 2021
Hi. Greetings from Birmingham. Yes your oculoplastic surgeon is right. In patients with minimal amounts of ptosis the margins for success are much narrower. i.e. for the patient to be happy they’ve got to be pretty perfect. Any minimal overcorrection or under correction and they’re more likely to be disappointed. No I wouldn’t agree that the risk of disappointment outweighs the chances of success and a happy patient though but the risk to benefit profile is more adverse though for reasons…
Am I a good candidate for a unilateral upper blepharoplasty?
Unilateral Asian/ oriental blepharoplasty
Dec 19, 2021
Hi. Greetings from the UK! Yes you would benefit from having a unilateral oriental blepharoplasty. They’re more simple than bilateral as from a surgeons perspective all we need to do is clone the other side for you. You need to ensure that you’re seeing someone who does a lot of them as the Asian eyelid is very different to a Occidental eyelid and is it very specialised. Your best chance for long term success is the primary operation done properly and well so make sure you research your sur…
