This is one of the most common questions posted. You may have looked around and seen that many others report lumpiness and hardness at the two to three point.Hopefully you will have a follow-up visit soon and can address your issues. Personally, I like to see what is going on in four weeks. And even then, it takes months to see the final results.

Tumescent liposuction requires small puncture holes. They heal over quickly but remain red for 6-12 weeks. Tanning while the skin is red often causes the areas to turn much darker than surrounding areas. You would do best to use a spray tan or “tan in a bottle” rather than a tanning bed or sun tanning.Also consider you may not think you will care years from now, I can assure you that everyone I have talked to wishes they had taken better care of their skin and not tanned during their youth.

You may have more recovery time from the general anesthetic than the liposuction. Generally, when we just have tumescent liposuction, people are active on the second day. I ask my patients to take a two mile walk and only avoid activities that would cause shaking for jarring. Otherwise, normal activities are resumed within a week or so.

The day of lipo of course it is best to remain inactive. However the next day, I have encouraged my patients to begin a gradually increasing active lifestyle. A two mile walk at a comfortable pace is a good goal for the day after. One should avoid high impact exercises for one to two weeks. Ask your physician for recommendations that are personalized for you.

Bruising and swelling below the treatment area are common and should cause you no concern. Also considering the time of year, now is the perfect time to have this kind of work done as most skin areas are covered by clothing and will not show.

Twenty percent of people taking Accutane will need additional treatment later, often a second course. In many ways a second course is easier. Often the acne is not as bad as the first time. Any side effects such as dryness you will likely be on top of.Regarding taking Accutane for only one month. It sounds like a misunderstanding. Probably you would be taking it again for five months and have a follow-up in one month.
