A Mommy makeover in Alaska is a colloquial term and used to indicate a series of procedures aimed to restore a woman’s body back to her pre-pregnancy shape.
Attached below is an article that can supply you with greater information.
A mommy makeover is a combination of surgical procedures performed to restore the mother’s body to its pre-pregnancy shape.
Despite dieting and exercise, women find that loose skin of the abdomen will not tighten and the breast are smaller, deflated and have lost shape.
The surgery typically involves a Tummy Tuck, Liposuction of the hips, flanks, and thighs as well as a Breast Augmentation +/- a Breast Lift.
These procedures are performed in a single or multiple stages depending on the amount of work required.
Patients typically report increased self-esteem, self-image, and an overall improvement in the quality of their lives following mommy tuck.
Please see a board certified plastic surgeon for an in-person examination to discuss the specific details of the procedures. Ask to see before and after photos to get an idea of what can be achieved.
Indications for Mommy Makeover
Generally speaking, Alaska mommy makeover includes a breast augmentation with/without a lift and possibly a tummy tuck. The breast surgery corrects the looseness, sagging, and loss of breast volume that occurs after pregnancy, and the tummy tuck corrects loose, stretched skin of the abdominal wall.
Your breast photos show stretching and sagging of your breasts, as well as loss of volume in the upper cleavage area. My opinion is that a lift would be necessary to reshape your breasts and correct the sagging, and an implant would be helpful to create more fullness in the cleavage area.
Grade III ptosis means your nipple is below the IMF pointing down. It does not make the mommy tuck any harder. You will have a dramatic improvement afterwards. The best way to assess and give true advice would be an in-person exam. Please see a board-certified plastic surgeon that specializes in aesthetic and restorative breast surgery.
Good candidate for mommy makeover
Provided you are otherwise healthy you appear to be an excellent candidate for a mommy makeover including a tummy tuck, liposuction, and brea augmentation with or without lift.
You already know that you are a good candidate for a mommy makeover. So is the recuperation time your biggest concern? When the muscles are repaired it takes a while (4-6 weeks) before they are healed enough to really stress them. you will have to be careful during this period not to do too much heavy activity like lifting kids, vacuuming , carrying heavy groceries and workouts.
Regarding the breasts: you are thin and want to have a good idea what size will be complimentary to your body in your mind’s eye. Do the rice test (can find on websites).
The tummy tuck and breast augmentation can be performed together, and performing them together is usually more cost effective.
An abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) will certainly be the procedure of choice to address the excess skin laxity as well as to tighten the abdominal muscles which will help to flatten the abdomen and bring in the waist line.
The addition of liposuction of the waist / lower back area may also be helpful to further create the ideal abdominal shape and contour.
Concerning your breasts, it appears that a breast augmentation alone will be sufficient (without a lift ) to give you the desired result, especially with your desire to be a D / DD.Regarding combining the surgeries: most of my patients prefer to combine their surgeries as much as possible as this decreases overall recovery time and decreases overall cost. I see no reason in your case to stage the procedures unless you would like to.
The overall time for recovery from a tummy tuck will not be increased by performing the breast surgery at the same setting. Please seek out a board certified plastic surgeon with experience in this area to set up a consultation to further discuss your aesthetic goals.
Which first: Breast or Abdomen?
The simple answer to this question is “which bothers you more?” if your priority is your abdomen, start with that if not, is not start with the breasts. Most of us would prefer to do both surgeries simultaneously, since it is basically in one field, reducing your “down” time, and even saving you some money.
Doing both does not increase your convalescence, which will be determined by how you react after your abdominoplasty. If you want a quick return to function, the breast operation is less intrusive, and your down time is considerably less.
If you do both together your down time is not cumulative but is the determined by the abdominoplasty. Of course, ask your surgeon how long the both operations will take if performed together. If your surgeon is unable to do both procedures in under five hours, it will be best to separate them.
This gives you one recovery, determined by the TT, and the breasts don’t take up a second recovery and anesthesia. But do what you are comfortable and either can be done first, maybe the one that bothers you more.
Breast lift and tummy tuck
A breast lift or breast implant placement along with a tummy tuck is very common procedure combination. This is typically doable within 5-6 hours unless a large amount of liposuction is required.
This is what is generally referred to as a mommy makeover. I would always suggest a second opinion if you are not comfortable with you first surgeon. It’s a good idea anyway to hear more than one perspective.
Multiple procedures
Yes, it is common to combine these procedures in the same surgery day. You appear to be a good candidate for the breast lift with an implant. An implant alone may not give you the best result. It never hurts to get a second opinion if you are unsure.
I often do tummy tuck and breast surgeries together, this is a Mommy Makeover in Alaska. It’s nice because typically the patient saves some money from the surgeon, facility, and anesthesia fees and they only have one recovery for both procedures.
I think (based off your photo) you may need a breast lift with or without implants but an in person exam is the best way to tell. Consider getting a second opinion on both the lift and doing both surgeries the same day.
I am here in Alaska and would be more than happy to meet with you and five you my opinion. So to answer your question yes you can have those two procedures done together for sure.
I can not tell from your photos what would be the best recommendation as far as the breast surgery part. If I can meet you in person for an exam that would be the best way to know.
Even if you feel the nipples are not pointing down you still may need a lift with or without an implant. I do mommy makeover surgery in Alaska all the time and I really enjoy those procedures. I hope this helps and let me know if there is anything I can do.
