Dr. Katz’s JUVA Skin & Laser Center offers its clientele two convenient locations in New York City: one in Woodside, Queens, and the flagship clinic in Midtown East, Manhattan. This is where Dr. Katz performs the majority of his procedures; this cutting-edge medical facility features an operating room, a laboratory for Mohs skin cancer surgery, and more. His Manhattan location also hosts a medspa with treatment rooms for massage, facials, laser hair removal, body contouring, and even a makeup center, ensuring all patients feel comfortable and confident once they walk out the door.
As a clinical professor of dermatology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital and the former director of the Cosmetic Surgery & Laser Clinic at Mount Sinai Hospital, Dr. Katz is frequently called upon to share his expertise. He is often featured as a medical expert in television segments (most notably on The Today Show, Good Morning America, CBS New York, and CNN), traditional media outlets like Cosmopolitan, and industry publications such as Dermatology Times and The Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology. Dr. Katz is also a regular guest lecturer at medical conferences, including the Vegas Cosmetic Surgery Annual Meeting.
Dr. Katz received his medical degree from McGill University Faculty of Medicine in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He went on to complete an internship in general surgery at Montreal’s Royal Victoria Hospital, followed by two residencies at New York’s Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in internal medicine and dermatology, respectively. He is board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology.
Dr. Katz is an active member of multiple medical professional organizations, including the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, and the American Academy of Dermatology, and is a past president of the Dermatologic Society of Greater New York. He is the recipient of many awards, including RealSelf’s Hall of Fame Award, and has been recognized as one of the best doctors in New York for several consecutive years by Castle Connolly Medical and New York magazine.
In addition to maintaining his thriving practice, Dr. Katz keeps busy by conducting research and clinical studies through his non-profit organization, the JUVA Foundation Research Center. There, he has been executing clinical studies on dermatology, cosmetic dermatology, and laser surgery for over 20 years, and has made some of his most important advancements in body contouring and laser skin rejuvenation techniques. The clinical studies performed through the center run the gamut from phase I clinical trials to post-marketing research, and much of the work has been published in major medical journals.
