Answer Snippet
Can I do a TCA chemical peel a week after under eye fillers?
TCA peel over filler
Jun 30, 2018
Even though 15% TCA is a superficial peel and would not penetrate deep down to where the filler should have been placed under your eyes, it is a bad idea to do this to yourself at home. The eyelids have very thin skin and are more prone to scarring than other parts of the face. It is not easy to smoothly apply even layers on yourself and you should be in a horizontal position, not upright position to avoid dripping and going too deep, or worse, getting it in your eye...
Raised bumps post-bleph. Warm compresses? Ice? Massage? to speed up healing.
Healing after blepharoplasty / lidlift
Jun 30, 2018
Fortunately eyelid skin is very forgiving as far as wound healing and scars. At one week the incision will tighten and continue to feel firm for about 6-8 weeks until it begins to mature and soften. Small bumps are common and they usually go away on their own. You can speed up this process with a little massage. It can be helpful to inject a fluorouracil / steroid combination to help soften these areas faster. Ask your surgeon what they suggest to...
Got Botox 11 days ago in forehead and 11 lines. Now inner brows have dropped and have high arches.
Mr Spock or Mephisto brows
May 14, 2018
The dropped central brow and exaggerated brow tail arches can occur for a few reasons. First off, most Botox injectors are unfortunately taught wrong from the beginning and the package insert which describes the FDA approved brow treatment is cookie cutter one size fits all. A lot of injectors are taught to treat at least 1 cm away from the eye socket to avoid the Botox from drifting into the upper eyelid or eye muscles and avoid a droopy eyelid or double...
What remedies are available to help with my Chalazia?
Chronic / recurrent chalazia (styes)
Feb 19, 2018
I am sorry to hear you have been having this problem for so long. You might actually have a mite infestation. In the past 10 years, we have discovered and learned how mites affect human eyelids. Demodex is a parasite that looks microscopically like a tiny insect. They burrow into the lash follicles and oil glands of our lids and can cause repeated styes, chronic inflammation, dry eye, lash loss, and the typical sign is a collarette or dead skin debris...
Upper eye bleph is this ok? 12 days post op.
Still early postop upper bleph
Feb 13, 2018
One side always swells more than the other. There could be a very small opening in the wound but it may heal fine with time and keeping it moist with ointment. If not, it can be revised with a very small office procedure. Avoid salt or high sodium foods so that you are not adding more swelling around your eyes at this time. Hope this is helpful.
My right eye looks higher than my left eye in photos. What's this and what can be done to make my
Asymmetric Eyes
Feb 12, 2018
You actually might have an asymmetry of the eye sockets (orbital bones). It is hard to tell from the photo which is taken far away. Very few people have perfect symmetry and a smaller eye socket on one side, or an eye socket that is deeper set than the other is quite common. A lower eyelid that is showing more of the white below your cornea could also make it look as if the eye is higher when it is not. A slight droopy brow or droopy upper lid...
My left eyelid droops compared to my right eyelid and getting worse as I age, what are my options?
You need an evaluation from an oculoplastic surgeon
Feb 6, 2018
An oculoplastic specialist will be able to determine what is causing the droop, rule out serious causes (such as neurologic problems), and recommend the appropriate treatment, which could possibly include an eyelid repair to lift it.
