I’m looking for a cosmetic surgeon or facial surgeon to do my facelift.
In search of a facelift surgeon
Oct 28, 2015
Check out the ASPS website to find a board certified plastic surgeon in your area. You are a great facelift candidate. The upper lip may not be fully correctable, depending on what was done.
Seroma in low back post Lipo. Any suggestions?
serum after liposuction
Oct 28, 2015
Seromas are not uncommon after liposuction. The body likes to fill spaces with fluid- that’s why we sometimes use drains. As long as the fluid remains clear and is removed regularly, the skin will stick down and the fluid will eventually stop coming back. Sometimes it helps to have a small drain called a seroma catheter inserted if there is a lot of fluid and it keeps coming back. The jury is out on antibiotics- I usually prescribe them for a few days, but it is not…
Worried about symmastia. Any suggestions?
synmastia concern after breast augmentation
Oct 28, 2015
Are you sure they are only 375cc? The photos you posted look larger. That said, a synmastia is a true communication between the right and left breast implant pockets. I don’t see that in the photos- only large implants that look close together. If you can push at the sides, and they cross the midline, then you have synmastia. If you do have synmastia, it will require surgical correction, and a bra won’t fix the problem. Good luck!
Had arm lift (my R arm is much larger), PS said he will do a revision in office. Nervous about t
arm lift asymmetry
Oct 28, 2015
It seems somewhat early for a revision, but I do agree that there is a significant asymmetry, and if the plastic surgeon is willing, I would go ahead. The surgeon should be able to just remove some more tissue and leave you with about the same scar that you have already, maybe a bit longer.
Will a mini tummy tuck help me with my stretch marks and extra skin and fat?
Mini tummy tuck candidate?
Oct 23, 2015
From the photos, it appears that you would benefit more from a traditional tummy tuck. That way, all of the extra skin and stretch marks can be adequately removed. Beware- some patients get sold on the idea of a mini-tummy tuck because it seems like there is less recovery or a shorter scar or it is less costly. However, if you need a full tummy tuck and get a mini, you won’t be happy with the result!
Repair my left earlobe, it is split. Any suggestions?
Torn earlobe repair
Oct 23, 2015
This is such a common problem! It often happens from wearing earrings that are too heavy, or sometimes from sleeping in earrings. I’ve also seen it happen from women wearing earrings that they are afraid to lose, so they keep making them tighter and tighter and the hole grows larger from the pressure. The procedure is actually very straightforward though a bit more involved than some people expect. It’s performed in the office under local anesthesia. The two torn…
If you receive an arm lift, do you have to get the long cut?
Arm lift scar
Oct 23, 2015
It really depends on how much extra tissue you have and how concerned you are with scarring versus contour. A longer scar allows you to achieve a better contour, but some patients will sacrifice contour for a shorter scar that can be hidden in the underarm.
Is all exercise off limits after a breast augmentation?
Exercise after breast augmentation
Oct 23, 2015
For a straightforward breast augmentation, I allow my patients to resume brisk walking after 2 weeks but no high impact exercise or heavy lifting for 4-6 weeks.
Which Surgery Should Be Done First – Breast Augmentation or Tummy Tuck?
Staging mommy makeover
Aug 17, 2011
The decision to stage the breast and abdominal portions of your mommy makeover is a personal one, as is whether to do the abdominal or breast portion of your procedure first. If you do choose to stage the procedures, I recommend doing whatever bothers you more first. However, because you have young children, you should consider that, while the recovery may be a bit less if you stage the procedures, you will not be able to lift your children for a while after each procedure….
What Are the Risk Factors for a Mini-tummy Tuck Too Soon After a C-section?
Mini-tummy tuck immediately following c-section
Aug 14, 2011
While many women choose to have their c-section incisions closed by a plastic surgeon, I do not generally recommend a formal mini tummy tuck as the time of c-section. Your tissues are extremely swollen at the time of delivery, and the uterus has not yet contracted, so it is not possible to remove the maximal amount of tissue, furthermore, your diastasis or muscle separation cannot be properly repaired. It is generally better to just wait until your body had healed and you have…
Best Tummy Tuck Technique for Me
Mommy makeover techniques
Aug 14, 2011
The angle from which these photos were taken makes it a bit difficult to say for sure, but it does NOT look like you would need a vertical component to your tummy tuck incision. It looks like you would do fine with a traditional tummy tuck which also allows for muscle plication. I don't see any reason why you couldn't have an inframammary approach to your breast augmentation. It is hard to tell how much breast tissue you have, but if your chest wall is thin, I would…
I Had Liposucton on my Thighs All Over 3 Weeks Ago, They Seem to Look Worse Now, Lumpy, Will Thi
Contour irregularities after liposuction
Aug 14, 2011
It can take several weeks for swelling to go down after liposuction. Ultimately, your result will depend to an extent on your preoperative appearance, how much suction the surgeon performed and where, as well as your own personal healing. Wearing a compression garment helps. Speak with your surgeon.
What Mommy Makeover Options Are Available for a Sagging Bust?
Mommy makeover breast lift
Aug 14, 2011
It isn't necessarily breast feeding, but pregnancy itself that causes significant changes in breast shape and volume. Most women experience some combination of loss of volume and sagging (ptosis). Correcting this and rejuventating the breasts generally involves augmentation (implants), lifting (mastopexy), or some combination of the two. What you will need depends on the appearance of your breasts as well as your specific concerns and goals. Most women have lost…
If I Get an Aerola Reduction, is the Scar Very Noticeable?
Areola reduction scarring
Aug 14, 2011
The way you scar after an areola reduction depends mostly on two things: 1) your personal scarring history (some darker skinned individuals are prone to keloid formation) and 2) the degree of tension on the closure. As long as you do not have a personal history of keloid formation, and there is no large implant being placed that will place the areola on significant tension, you should heal just fine!
Does My Skin Type Effect Recovery Time After Rhinoplasty?
Skin type and rhinoplasty
Aug 14, 2011
Skin type can affect both recovery from as well as the ultimate result of rhinoplasty. Some skin types are more predisposed to swelling and can actually mask the degree to which the structural work performed is appreciated. I have seen patients develop reactions to taping, and the taping probably isn't helping you much at this point, so I would remove it as your surgeon suggested and give it some time.
