I use the Enlighten laser in my practice for tattoo removal. I treat both color and black tattoos. No specific questions come to mind that you should ask. The laser works amazingly well for removal and works faster/with fewer treatments that any other system I have had experience. It is very quick and very well tolerated. Bottom line, I think you will love it!!

I would recommend that you hold off on all reconstruction until you are at least one year out from the completion of your radiation therapy. In my practice after radiation therapy you would only be offered autologus tissue reconstruction as the complication rates with tissue expanders and/or implants alone is very high. In my practice I typically have patients were a compression garment after mini tummy tuck for 6 weeks. During this time they can remove it for showering and short breaks while lying in the bed. I also generally recommend that they use other lighter forms of compression, such as high waisted Spanks or girdles, for another few weeks after.

By far and away the best thing you can do to insure the best tummy tuck scar is to
1. Not smoke or use nicotine products
2. Do not allow sunlight or artificial UV (tanning) light onto the scars
3. Keep them well moisturized. The cheapest way to do this is coco butter or the lotion you were likely already using after surgery.

The antihelical fold is typically created by abrading the anterior surface of the cartilage and then folding the cartilage by placing sutures on the posterior surface of the cartilage. Acute or chronic low grade infections can occur (and are more likely if the suture is braided versus monofilament) leading to extrusion and or the need for removal to clear the infection. Small lipomas in favorable areas are often removed under straight local in the clinic. Moderate lipomas or those in more challenging locations are typicaly removed under IV sedation and local in the outpatient surgery center. Large lipomas are also sometimes removed under IV sedation and local, but as the size increases most surgeons are more likely to recommend general anesthesia. I personally would not want a 8 x 10 cm lipoma removed from my body under local anesthesia alone!

Of course, there are always exceptions as some patients facial structure will be maintained and not negatively effected by the weight loss. The implant (augmentation) will give you more volume or fullness and the mastopexy (lift) will rid you of the excess skin and provide a more pleasing lifted shape! In theory yes your implants could be removed without “being put to sleep”, that is they could in theory be removed without general anesthesia or intravenous sedation (IVS). That being said, I would recommend that you consider at least a light IVS to minimize your anxiety during the procedure. Also, depending on your full history and physical exam findings you may not be a candidate for removal without general anesthesia or IVS>.
