If you had your reduction done through insurance then presumably it was because of symptoms caused by the heavy weight of your breasts. If you now miss your old size, implant placement is an option to give you back some fullness. My concern is putting 425cc implants in might cause your symptoms to return. It appears you have bulging of the infraorbital fat pads. This is often hereditary and you might notice it in your parents and siblings. It's not necessarily age related but it does worsen as we get older. You would be a good candidate for a transconjunctival blepharoplasty which can reduce these bulging fat pads with no external scar. From the photos it looks like your scars are still immature and may improve over time. If not you could consider a scar revision. These are much less involved than your original lift and you should discuss it with your surgeon. From the looks of your areola it looks like you may have experienced some delayed wound healing in this area with loss of the pigment cells. This may not improve.

Zara 2019,As you are only 6 weeks out I would give the tissues more time to heal and settle into their final appearance.  I would hold off on using a suction device unless you talk to your surgeon first.  They may be fine with it at this point but I don't want you to spoil a good result.

Insurance companies are all different but in the case you describe I think it is likely to be covered.  See your surgeon and they can evaluate you, discuss the planned procedure, and send a letter to your insurance company prior to the operation to make sure the operation will be covered.  Good luck!

It sounds as if your surgeon is doing the right thing based on what you have said. There is no set routine for the imaging tests you mention prior to explant.  In addition to what you already have scheduled I always insist on an up to date mammogram if the patient is due for it.  Otherwise, I order the other tests if needed, but not routinely, as they can be expensive and seldom change the planned surgical procedure.

Agree with Dr. Aycock.  The tattoo pigment absorbs more energy (heat) from the hair removal laser than the surrounding normal skin and leads to the symptoms you are experiencing.  Fortunately, in your case the damage doesn't look too bad and I suspect at worst you might see some slight fading of the tattoo. Call or visit the people that did the hair removal and discuss this with them.

Good question, and one without a definite answer.  How long to wait before placing another implant or expander following a removal for infection is not clearly defined by available data.  We don't have clear answers relating waiting time to the degree of infection, organism type, antibiotic usage, etc. that tell us exactly when it is safe to reoperate.   6 weeks is generally the minimum but you will see other answers here suggesting waiting longer.  In general, if there is any doubt (eith...

Fortunately, problems like yours are fairly rare after tummy tucks.  There are techniques I've used over the years to create a new one either after an abdominoplasty problem or from a congenital absence (omphalocele repair) with satisfactory results.  Although the results are not as good as the real thing, I think it would be a big improvement over your current appearance.  I think you should see a board certified plastic surgeon and explore this.

Most drainless tummy tucks use internal sutures to close off the space that normally would need a drain, making the drain unnecessary.  The addition of tissue glue is done by some surgeons although many surgeons, myself included, have found this is not really needed.  If your surgeon is getting good results with minimal complications I would go with whatever technique (glue or no glue) that is working best for them.

This can sometimes be very difficult to determine preoperatively in borderline cases.  It depends on the amount of breast tissue present, skin quality, size of implants, etc.  It also depends significantly on the patient's idea of what constitutes a satisfactory result.  Some patients are happy to accept some sagging and deflation, others aren't.  If there's any doubt in your mind or the surgeon's you can have the implants removed, allow the tissues to heal and then see if you are sati...

Your picture does show uneven breasts but it may be too soon to judge this as a final result.  For now, I would follow the instructions of your surgeon and continue the massage on the right side and give everything time to settle.  Sometimes it's necessary to overcorrect somewhat when doing this type of revision surgery and your surgeon has anticipated the implant on the right will drop relative to it's current location over the next few weeks/months.

The answer varies from state to state.  You might start by contacting the Medicaid office in your state to see if it is a covered benefit.  If it is, then see a plastic surgeon for a consultation and they should be able to let you know if you meet the criteria for coverage.  Hope you're able to get this done, as patients are generally very happy with their results.

Agree with the others.  Your nipple to fold distance is too long and excess skin will need to be removed in the horizontal dimension to shorten this.  Yes, you will now have a scar in the fold beneath the breast but the shape will be much better.  The scars will  fade over time but the shape you have will never improve without a revision.
