Simple answer to your question is yes. However, for “functional” or “medical” reasons and not for cosmetic reasons. You have achieved a nice result from your ptosis surgery. You have a natural upper eyelid height and curve (contour). Some of the asymmetry you are aware of and bothered by is probably related to the natural asymmetry of your face and orbits. Your left face and orbit is larger than your right. All of us have this natural asymmetry. The fullness of the skin fold and eyelids are often different as a result. Do not consider further surgery in terms of removing skin or adjusting skin creases….

I think you look youthful and should not be too concerned about this and certainly not consider cosmetic treatments at your age. This is entirely normal. Perhaps consider whether you are sleeping enough and whether your water intake (not sugary drinks, tea,coffee etc) is adequate. Addressing these 2 issues may well make a big difference.

Keep this area moist with occlusive creams and now that it is 3 weeks, you can start to massage and scars that are raised or that you can feel. As Dr Volpe suggests, firm massage as the weeks progess will help. Applying Bio-oil may help as an adjunct to firm massage. We have just completed a prospective study evaluating the role of Active Manuka Honey on eyelid scars and it would be worth applying this as of now perhaps twice a day to the incision line, for the next 2-3 weeks.
